Las Vegas A Hotspot For Conventions

?Las Vegas A Hotspot for Conventions

Las Vegas is a hot spot for vacations, weddings, and gambling, but what many people don’t know is that
Las Vegas is also a hotspot for conventions. Each year, more than five million convention and trade show
delegates travel to Las Vegas, which generates billions in non gaming revenue. The city hosts a great
percentage of Tradeshow Week’s top 200 largest conventions and rents more convention space that any
other city in the United States. Las Vegas has nine million square feet of convention and meeting space,
including the space used by the Las Vegas Convention Center, the South Hall expansion, and the addition
of Mandalay Bay’s 1.5 million square foot conference center. For meeting planners there are many
convention sites to choose from, but the Las Vegas Convention Center is the most popular convention
center in the city.

The Las Vegas Convention Center is located in the Las Vegas Valley. The convention center is adjacent to
the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel, and is located just before the Las Vegas Monorail. McCarran International
Airport and the Las Vegas business district are also located within three miles of the Las Vegas
Convention Center. The Center is owned and operated by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
The convention center is on of the largest in the world, and received an expansion in 2004. The $150
million expansion project added 918,000 square feet of exhibit space and 90,000 square feet of meeting
space. The center now has more than 3.2 million square feet of space, and features two million square
feet of exhibit space, 380,000 square feet of meeting space, and 144 meeting rooms that have seating
capacities from 20 to 2,500 people.

The Las Vegas Convention Center is also one of the most modern meeting facilities in the world. The
center is located within miles of 100,000 guests rooms. It also contains a grand lobby and registration
area that is more than 225,000 square feet. The lobby and registration area links existing exhibit halls
with new exhibit halls and meeting rooms, which allows simultaneous set up, breakdown, and the
exhibiting of multiple events. The Cashman Center is another Las Vegas Convention Center that is known
for its conventions. It celebrated its 20th anniversary of hosting conventions, meetings, trade shows,
and cultural and sporting events in 2003.

The Cashman Center contains 534,000 square feet of space, and is located on 50 acres of land. It
consists of 100,000 square feet of exhibit space, 17,659 square feet of meeting room space, a 9,370 seat
stadium, and a 1,922 seat theater. More than 1,400 minor league baseball games, four Triple A World
Series games, one Triple A all star games, and numerous other sporting events have been held at the
Cashman Center. Some of the other sporting events held at the convention center include Southern
California Volleyball Association Tournaments, USA Judo Tournaments, Musclemania, cheerleading and dance
competitions, and softball tournaments. This convention center has also hosted many conventions and
other events, including concerts, Broadway productions, and many television productions in its theater.

Vegas is home to many conventions and is one of the hottest spots in the world to hold conventions. Las
Vegas conventions are also among the most popular and exciting conventions in the world. The city
contains hundreds of conventions that are available for groups to have their meetings. Convention and
meeting planners will find the Las Vegas conventions among the best, and will be able to make all of the
necessary arrangements for their guests. Millions of people attend conventions held in Las Vegas each
year, and millions are satisfied with their meetings and their experience. Las Vegas’s convention
centers offer planners the most diversity and the most services to ensure that all the conventions are
successful.
